Presentation Design Case Study

ESRI Keynote Design and Presentation

As a team member of the Creative Lab for Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI), I was responsible for creating and designing high-level presentations for company owner Jack Dangermond and keynote speakers for the yearly and highly-anticipated User Conference in San Diego, California. Presentations were created using Apple’s Keynote and were viewed on 3 large canvas screens to accommodate viewing. Video examples of my presentation work can be viewed below.

Keynote Presentation: “Mapping the Invisible” by Hernando DeSoto

In this presentation, I worked directly with Hernando DeSoto (keynote speaker) who was living in Peru, South America. Hernando and I traded emails, files and phone discussions discussing his topic and the various ways in which I could create his vision for the presentation. The time it took to start and complete the presentation took approximately two months. All aspects of the development, design, layout and concept was my own. Apple Keynote and Adobe Photoshop were the two primary tools for putting together his hour long presentation. The presentation was showcased at the User Conference in San Diego, California at the San Diego Convention Center to an attendance crowd of over 15,000 people. Above is a running presentation of my work in video format.

Keynote Presentation: “BiodiversityThe Foundation of Life” by Dr. Peter Raven

In this presentation, I worked directly with Dr. Peter Raven (keynote speaker) and his team of content specialist. This presentation involved two senior designers due to the scope of work and deadline. We collaborated and partnered together and traded our time and design resources to assure this presentation was successful. Dr. Peters team and I traded emails, files and had many phone discussions discussing the topic and the various ways in which we could create his vision for the presentation. The time it took to start and complete the presentation took approximately three months. Apple Keynote and Adobe Photoshop were the two primary tools for putting together this hour long presentation.
